Every year, the last Friday in November marks the start of a season of mass consumption. However, in recent years a movement has emerged encouraging us to look beyond impulsive shopping and reflect on the impact of our choices: Green Friday.
A movement that promotes responsible, conscious consumption, where decisions are made with more thought and a commitment to our environment.
Green Friday was born as a response to the excesses of Black Friday. Instead of driving impulse buying, it champions responsibility, coherence, and sustainable action.
At MYND Hotels, we believe that travel can also be an act of awareness. That’s why, we’re joining this movement again this year - turning Black into Green to turn a day of shopping discounts into an opportunity to create a positive impact.
Green Friday is a chance to act with integrity. That’s why MYND Hotels donates 1.5% of all bookings made during the campaign to Fundación Foresta, a Canary-based organisation dedicated to restoring and conserving the archipelago’s natural ecosystems.
Thanks to this collaboration, which we’ve maintained for over three years, around 3,200 native trees have been planted, degraded areas have been recovered, and we have helped offset the carbon footprint of the tourism sector. This year, MYND Hotels and Sholeo Lodges will allocate approximately €10,000 - also generated from the same 1.5% - reaffirming our commitment to more responsible, more sustainable tourism.
This partnership reflects our conviction that sustainable tourism is not measured in words, but in actions that generate real and lasting impact.

MYND Hotels’ commitment to sustainability translates into tangible figures and measurable outcomes:
Our programme invites guests to reuse their towels to reduce water and energy consumption.
We have installed free filtered water stations in all our hotels, significantly reducing plastic use.
An initiative that combines awareness and action.
We offer guests the option to reduce the frequency of room cleaning to limit the use of chemicals and water.
These achievements add to the impact of our direct participation in Green Friday, with 2,830 trees planted, over 17,000 kg of CO₂ offset, and a 70% reduction in plastic use in our properties.

“Don’t throw in the towel on the planet”
Our programme invites guests to reuse their towels to reduce water and energy consumption.
- • 50,000 towels saved per year.
- • An average of 20 litres of water per wash.
- • 1,000,000 litres of water saved annually.
- • €10,000 donated to Fundación Foresta by giving €0.20 for every towel not washed.
Water dispensers
We have installed free filtered water stations in all our hotels, significantly reducing plastic use.
- • 170,000 litres of water served.
- • 400,000 plastic bottles avoided.
Sustainable bottle sales
An initiative that combines awareness and action.
- • 1,185 bottles sold - equivalent to €1,185 donated to Fundación Foresta.
- • Reduced single-use plastic consumption among our guests.
Conscious cleaning
We offer guests the option to reduce the frequency of room cleaning to limit the use of chemicals and water.
